These 10 Bidets Clean Up Like No Other

Say so long to TP with these bidet attachments, seats, toilets, and portable sprayers.

It is phenomenal how foreign bidets seem to much of the western hemisphere. We are so set on using toilet paper to clean our butts that the idea of a little splash cleanup seems antiquated. This has a lot to do with bathroom design, and the fact that old-world bidets were usually standalone tanks (you’ll know what I’m talking about if you’ve been to a country like Italy); our bathrooms weren’t designed with the space or plumbing for these.

However, modern bidets are designed for pretty much every toilet—even the one in your bathroom right now. They come as attachments that clip to the side of your toilet seat or as one functionality on a multitasking toilet seat. Many can heat the water, adjust the pressure, or even blow air on your fanny to help dry it out after the spritz.

Best of all, bidets cut back on toilet paper, which saves far more water (from production of the TP itself) than that which you’re using to freshen up—and saves on the cost of the toilet paper, too. Bidets are particularly gentle on hemorrhoid-prone people, at any stage of their plight. The less wiping you do back there, the better, no matter how sensitive your rear is. Heck, some bidets can even travel with you to support the healthy practice.

Read on for our recommendations of the best bidets, including attachments, seats, portable models, and full-on toilets.

What to Consider when Buying a Bidet

There’s a lot to consider, as it turns out. The big debate is whether to choose an electric option or a non-electric one. Electric bidets often require a standard outlet near your toilet and will offer various additional features, such as a heated seat, remote-control functionality, pressure control, directional control, and even some water heating options. The non-electric options are, of course, far less customizable.

You will have to decide the style of bidet you want, too. Although we omit any standalone bidets from this list—because that requires extra real estate in your bathroom altogether—we did consider toilets with built-in bidet functionality, toilet seats with bidets, bidet attachments, and portable bidets. If you’re adding a toilet seat or attachment to your existing toilet, then you’ll need to consider the necessary dimensions of the toilet and lid, in order to get a device that suits your porcelain.

How We Evaluated These Bidets

I’ve been a grooming journalist for more than eight years and have written for nearly every U.S. men’s outlet in that time. I love trying new products, speaking with brands, helping readers perfect their self care, and offering my own skin and hair up as a petri dish. Although I have tested a handful of these bidets, one of the biggest factors I used to determine the best bidets was online reviews and ratings. Unlike a moisturizer or even beard trimmers, bidets aren’t something we grooming experts accumulate and change with the seasons. Attachments and toilet seats? Yes. Actual toilets upwards of $1,000? In my dreams.

Best Standard Bidet Attachment
Veken Non-Electric Bidet Attachment
$25.49 (15% off)

Key Specs

  • Type: Non-electric
  • Spray Angle: Fixed rear and front
  • Dimensions: 15.2 x 13.0 x 3.0 in.

Veken sells one of the most affordable, no-frills bidet attachments, though you’ll need to ensure it fits your toilet seat. (There needs to be a foot between the wall and the center of the toilet, and less than 16 inches across the entire seat.) Although it is not adjustable in size, it does have pressure control—perhaps the more imperative adjustment for some users—as well as dual angles for rear end and feminine cleansing.

  • Adjustable water pressure
  • Adjustable angle for rear and feminine cleansing

  • Won’t fit all toilets

Dude Wiper 1000
Dude Products

Key Specs

  • Type: Non-electric
  • Spray Angle: Fixed rear
  • Dimensions: 17.7 x 3.5 x 7.7 in.

Machismo branding aside, this is an excellent and straightforward pick. It adjusts to fit the width of your toilet and delivers two different intensities: a pressurized blast or a gentler mist. A self-cleaning, retractable nozzle does the dirty work. You might need to scoot forward to get the right angle, but once you do, you’ll be quickly refreshed and free of any mess.

  • Adjustable width
  • Options for pressurized stream and gentle misting

  • Spray angle isn’t adjustable
Best Non-Electric Bidet Toilet Seat
Tushy Classic 3.0

Key Specs

  • Type: Non-electric
  • Spray Angle: Adjustable from rear to front
  • Dimensions: 17.8 x 9.8 x 4.0 in.

Tushy is one of the big names in the bidet space—or at least for those of us who work in personal care. Their latest non-electric seat is their best yet: It’s the most customizable in terms of pressure and angle, plus it shields against grime buildup thanks to its self-cleaning mode and antimicrobial knobs. Although it fits most standard toilets, it doesn’t fit them all. One Amazon review says it best: “You need a seat that has thick bumpers underneath that holds the seat up off the rim at least as high as the bidet frame is thick—between about 1/8 and 1/4 inch.”

  • Adjustable pressure and angle
  • Self cleaning, with antimicrobial knobs

  • Fits most, but not all, toilets
Best Electric Bidet Toilet Seat
Bio Bidet Bliss BB-2000 Elongated Bidet Seat
Bio Bidet

Key Specs

  • Type: Electric
  • Spray Angle: Adjustable rear and front
  • Dimensions: 21 x 15.6 x 9 in.

For maximum comfort, it’s all about heat controls—both in the seat itself and the water temperature. Oh, and everything else a top-shelf bidet seat can do for you. This one has an oscillating wide spray function, a dryer (!), rear and vaginal spray angling, a night light, and all the controls are on an easy-to-see remote. Yes, it’s expensive, but you’ll feel like you’re sitting on a true porcelain throne. Bio Bidet makes a cheaper version with a side-control panel, as well as a pricier one with auto-open functionality. If you have a finicky posterior, this one is well worth the price tag.

  • Adjustable temperature, water pressure, and spray angle
  • Heated seat
  • Night light
  • Eco-friendly energy-save mode

  • Expensive
  • Requires electrical outlet near toilet (par for the course for any electrical option)
Chrome Bidet Attachment
GoBidet Bidet Attachment
$125.73 (16% off)

Key Specs

  • Type: Non-electric
  • Spray Angle: Adjustable rear and front
  • Dimensions: ‎9 x 10 x 3 in.

This chrome attachment is much more universal than any bidet toilet seat, given it fits under the right side of any lid (you might need to add height to your seat, though, if it doesn’t have natural bumpers). A simple lever allows you to maneuver its angle and pressure, and it has a retractable arm for whenever it is not in use.

  • Most adjustable (albeit manual) positioning and angling
  • Adjustable pressure for more sensitive areas or tougher tasks

  • Sleekness aside, it’s hard to justify this cost over a similar-benefits plastic attachment
Best Bidet Sprayer/Hose
Arofa Handheld Bidet Sprayer

Key Specs

  • Type: Non-electric
  • Spray Angle: Manual sprayer
  • Dimensions: 47-in. hose

Bidet sprayers are grossly undervalued in the butt-washing game. But maybe that’s because it’s hard to adjust the pressure of most, and you end up wondering if the device is solely used for power washing the sides of the toilet bowl. Arofa, however, has a pressure adjuster (like that on a shower head), allowing you to clean up however intensely (or not) you desire. Power washing is still possible, if you need it for that.

  • Adjustable pressure
  • Great for cleaning toilet bowl skids, too
  • Universal tank hanger

  • Angles can get tricky (a universal issue for handheld sprayers)
Best Bidet Toilet
Toto Drake 1-Gallon Washlet+ S500e Two-Piece Toilet

Key Specs

  • Type: Electric
  • Spray Angle: Adjustable rear and front
  • Dimensions: 27.4 x 17.3 x 30.1 in.

The toilet experts at Toto have engineered one very enviable throne in the Drake with S500e Washlet+ bidet lid. In layperson terms, you get unlimited heated water, a self-cleaning wand and bowl, air deodorizer, warm air dryer, quiet-close seat, concealed power cord, two-person memory settings, pressure controls, nozzle oscillation, position adjustment, eco-friendly flush option, and remote-control functionality.

  • Totally customizable user settings, with memory for two users
  • Concealed cables allow for minimalistic appearance
  • Self-cleaning bowl and wand with each use

  • Low-intensity dryer function
  • Expensive
Best Electric Portable Bidet
Mighty Rock Meidong Electric Portable Travel Bidet
Mighty Rock

Key Specs

  • Type: Electric
  • Spray Angle: Adjustable
  • Capacity: 14.7 oz.

Portable bidets are terrific for one-off issues, camping, or for people whose hemorrhoids come and go a couple times per year. Mighty Rock’s battery-powered portable device allows you to freshen up in sensitive, wipe-avoidant scenarios, for “baby flushing” after diaper changing (on the low setting), or whenever nature calls. It has a rotating nozzle head, 180-degree angling, and two washing modes. (It lasts about 32 seconds on high and 45 seconds on low.)

  • Waterproof and easy to clean
  • Stores inside self, once water is emptied
  • Two pressure modes

  • Frequent users noted a relatively short shelf life (1 year of steady use)
Best Manual Bidet
Goando 2-Pack Portable Travel Bidet (500ml)

Key Specs:

  • Type: Non-electric
  • Spray Angle: Manual
  • Capacity: 16.9 oz.

If you need a gentle flush for your baby or just want a battery-free, easily totable bidet for camping or travel, then Goando’s got you covered. These dishwasher-safe bottles dispense a stream of water with the push of a button, and because they aren’t pressurized with a squeeze, you can focus a little more on the angle of application compared to most other manual or makeshift options. Be sure to clean the tips with alcohol wipes or rub between uses.

  • Button dispenses water instead of squeeze
  • Angled and straight tip options

  • Low pressure (standard for manual options)
Best Portable Bidet for Camping
CuloClean Portable Bidet and Bottle

Key Specs

  • Type: Non-electric
  • Spray Angle: Manual
  • Capacity: 11.2 oz.

And the award for best bidet brand name goes to… CuloClean. This half-ounce cap makes it easy to turn a bottle into a makeshift bidet. Fill it up with clean water, and give it a squeeze for a targeted splash across your tush. It fits most standard plastic bottles, though it also comes packaged with one.

  • Fits almost any plastic bottle
  • Dishwasher safe cap and bottle

  • Angles and pressure are difficult to manage with any manual bidet
